VANS WARPED TOUR SURVIVAL TIPS

Teenagers across North America are preparing for summer vacation and gearing up for their summer at Warped Tour. With the iconic traveling festival starting it’s hot, sweaty summer later this month, we threw together our top five tips for surviving Warped Tour!

BRING A WATER BOTTLE

There are Klean Kanteen stations around the festival where you can refill your water bottle for free throughout the day. Make sure to drink tons and tons of water and stay hydrated because it gets hot and dusty out there in the pit. Also, make sure to either bring a snack with you or come prepared to buy food at the show because you need all the energy you can get.

MAKE GOOD FASHION CHOICES

When dressing for Warped Tour, make sure you’re dressing for comfort and not to look cute. Days at Warped Tour are long, hot and dusty. The crowds can also be rough, so it’s incredibly important that you’re comfortable for the entire day. Also, don’t even think about wearing open toed shoes. Your feet will get crushed if you wear open toed shoes, so do yourself a favor and just don’t do it. Open toed shoes are also not the most comfortable shoe option, and comfort at Warped Tour is everything. When you’re standing from 11 am to 8 pm, you’re going to want to wear shoes with good support so you aren’t in excruciating pain by the end of the day.

WEAR SUNSCREEN

It doesn’t matter who you are or how well your skin holds up on super sunny days, you NEED to wear sunscreen at Warped Tour. Don’t just put it on before you leave the house, continuously reapply that stuff all day long. If you read this and say “I don’t care, I don’t need sunscreen,” just do yourself a favor and wear it to lessen your chances of getting skin cancer and to just eliminate the possibilities of getting a nasty sunburn. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

MAKE A LIST OF THE BANDS YOU WANT TO SEE

Knowing who you want to see is a crucial part of attending Warped Tour because you have to know how to plan your day once you arrive at the venue. You’ll be able to buy schedules to carry around with you, or you can find the massive inflatable schedule with all the set times that’s usually in a somewhat central location within the festival. You want to have the list of bands you want to see ready ahead of time because then you can figure out when you have gaps in your schedule to get off your feet for a bit, get food, or meet some bands. After you plan your day, take note of bands you may want to meet so you can head to their merch tents and ask about what time the band will be signing.

PUT YOUR PARENTS OUT OF THEIR MISERY

After attended Warped Tour for a number of years, we’ve seen some pretty miserable parents out in the pits with their kids. But parents, have no fear, Warped Tour has “Parent Daycare” for you! It’s a big, air conditioned tent that no teens are allowed in. You can sit in there and read, eat or do whatever you please while your kids are off running around the festival.
